Bessie (Susie) Tiner
Services for Bessie (Susie) Tiner, 71, of Gun Barrel City, were 2 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Keever Chapel, Ennis, with the Rev. James Ragsdale and Sister Louise Rice officiating.
Interment followed in the King Cemetery in Seven Points, under the direction J.E. Keever Mortuary. Mrs. Tiner died Thursday, Jan. 25, at her home. She was born July 20, 1929, in Waxahachie, the daughter of James H. and Elva Lee Pharriss Huffstetler. Mrs. Tiner was reared in Waxahachie and Maypearl. She was a graduate of Maypearl High School and earned her LVN from Waxahachie Hospital Nursing School in 1950. On April 16, 1950 she was married to Marvin Tiner of Duncan, Okla. After their marriage they lived in the Seven Points area. She was employed as a private duty LVN. Mrs. Tiner was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Tiner in 1995 and a son, Marvin Tiner, Jr., in 1955. Mrs. Tiner was a member of the Aley Baptist Church. Survivors include sons, Larry Tiner of Gun Barrel City; daughter, Terrie Lea Jones of Rockwall; granddaughter, Wyndie Marie Jones of Gun Barrel City; grandsons, Thomas M. Jones of Rockwall, Larry Tiner II and Stephen S. Tiner both of Ennis; great-grandsons, Kristopher Ray Jones and Adrian J. Jones both of Kemp and Keeley M. Percival of McKinney; daughter-in-law, Scarlet Tiner of Ennis; sister and her husband, Pauline and Don Odom of Irving; brothers and their wives, R.C. and Bessie Huffstetler of Dallas, Bill and Louise Huffstetler of Ennis, Darwin Huffstetler of Dallas, James H., Jr. and Grace Huffstetler of Seven Points, Billy W. and Marie Huffstetler of Tyler. Pallbearers were Ronnie Booth, Kenny Bullock, James Huffstetler, Oddie V. Smith, Bobby Taylor and Haskell Mauldin.
