Services for Thelma Yarbrough Tiner, 81 of Athens are scheduled for 11 A.M. Saturday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Mills and Steven Sims officiating.
Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs Tiner died Jan 10, 2001, in Irving.
She was born Sept. 10, 1919 in Henderson County to David Edwin and Elsie Mae Norris Yarbrough.
Mrs. Tiner was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. She was a member of LaRue Baptist Church. She was employed for 32 years for Vassarette of Munsingwear Inc. before her retirement in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood Tiner, in 1983; and her parents.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Hamilton Leach of Chandler, Billie and Victor Henderson of Irving and Linda and Richard Gallegos of Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; sister Frankie Huggins of Athens; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ernie Negem, Phil Barrett, Ricky Shaw, Keith Mitchell, Dwight Berry, Larry Sims, Danny Wilbanks and Denny Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Brown, George Wilson, Charlie Hallmark, Larry Tiner and Bill Tiner.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

News Article in the Tyler Morning Telegraph, ran January 23, 1974, regarding fatal accident of Jennings M. Petrey:
POYNOR - A collision between two pickup trucks here late Monday claimed the life of a second victim Tuesday as 69 year old Jennings M. Petrey of Poynor died in a Tyler hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. The first victim, Alfred T. Dickerson, 71, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday night at a Jacksonville hospital.. Funeral services for Mr. Petrey are set for 2 P.M. Thursday in Poynor Church of Christ with Kenneth Body and Dan Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Poynor Cemetery under direction of Foster-Brown Funeral Home of Athens. He was a native of Poynor, a retired employee of the City of Dallas and a member of Poynor Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Petrey of Poynor; two daughters, Mrs. Tommy Owens of Mesquite and Mrs. Bobby Ferguson of Seagoville; one brother, Preston Petrey of Miles; five sisters, Mrs. Lela Miller and Mrs. Lockie Blackman, both of Garland, Mrs. Lorena White of Dallas, Mrs. Ora Roberts of Kilgore and Mrs. Sybil Angeley of Grand Saline; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services for Robert Alton Drew, 84 of Athens were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Foster and Brown Chapel with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating.
Burial followed at LaRue Cemetery under the direction of Foster and Brown Funeral Home. Mr. Drew died May 22, 2000, in Athens. He was born Nov. 7, 1915 in Baxter Community to George and Myra Elizabeth Copeland Drew.
He was employed with the City of Athens for 35 years. He held various positions before retiring as a parks and recreation supervisor. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Mr. Drew was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Nelda June Drew, sisters, Ella Sanders, Clara Evans, and Addie Little; brothers, Orbin Drew and James E. Drew, and a grandson Chris Sims.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wilma Tiner Drew of Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Robbie and Larry Sims of Athens and Myra and Danny Wilbanks of Athens; sister, Effie Torres of Athens; grandchildren Stephen and Karen Sims of Tyler, Randy and Tisha Sims of Waco, Amanda Sims of Athens, Keith and Junko Wilbanks of Japan, Kim and Dale Hyles of Hico, and Melissa and Jason Tatum of Abilene, and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Denny Sims, Leon Denny, Robert Denny, Bobby Little and Charles Sanders. Honorary pallbearers were Floyd Parish, Bill Cogdell, Coy Little, Johnny Little, Tommy Jackson, and R.D. Rhodes.

Funeral Services for Nelda Drew were held Tuesday at LaRue.
Funeral services for Nelda Drew, six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drew of the LaRue community, who died in Dallas Sunday, (Dec. 31, 1946) were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the LaRue Baptist Church.
The services were conducted by the Rev. John Duckett, pastor of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Athens. Burial was in the LaRue Cemetery.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Robbie Sue and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Tiner of LaRue.
