Edward Ambrose Tovrea 1861-1932

Edward was the son of Arthur T and Rosa Jane Hood Tovrea of Sparta, Randolph Co., IL. He and Lillian, his first wife had 5 sons, one of which was Phillip Edward. Edward Ambrose's second wife was Della Gillespie. There were no children from this marriage. Edward was the owner/founder of the famed "Tovrea Castle" and the Tovrea stock yards in Phoenix, AZ. He was also very involved in the Democratic Party in AZ. Edward died in Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ at the age of 71. Photo from Jim Johnson
