On 3 APR 1878 James H. Furbee and his wife sold 2 acres on Buffalo Creek near Mannington to Phebe Nay, wife of J. W. Nay, all of Mannington Dist., for $160; it was part of the land conveyed by W. S. Clayton and wife to Furbee; signed James H. Furbee, Sarah J. Furbee.

James made his will 16 APR 1886; it was proved 20 NOV 1899. In it he mentioned his wife Sarah J. and named as executors his sons Walter S. and Lesley C.
