Noel Kenneth Batchelor (son of Henry Batchelor and Alice Wilson)5 was born July 22, 1908 in 11 court, 37, SponSt., Coventry (sub district St. John's)_6, and died September 25, 1966 in 106, Evenlode Crescent, Coundon, Coventry6. He married Gwendoline Mary Death on August 17, 1935 in St. John's church, Fleet St., Coventry, daughter of Edward Francis Death and Florence Emma Pearman.

Noel attended St. John's C of E school in Gloucester St, Coventry, passing the scholarship to go to Bablake school. Unfortunately his parents could not afford the uniform,so he was unable to attend .On leaving school , he joined the army and was in the Royal Engineers, Tank Corps Division, from 1925 to 1933 and also during the war from 1939 to 1940 when he was medically discharged with a duodenal ulcer. He worked for the Coventry Corporation from 1933, starting as a labourer and finishing up as Chief Structural Engineer, a Post he held until his death in 1966.
