The news story on the death of Roland Smith.
It reads in part as follows: 
"Roland Smith, 24, an International Transit Company employee was killed
early today when his car crashed into a telephone pole...The front end of the
car was collapsed onto the driver's seat. It's believed the time of the accident
was between 5 and 6:30.  Smith, a single man, resided with his parents on
Biggings Ave.  Constable Cook said Smith was driving and Roland Husband was
sitting beside him in the front seat when the car left the road and smashed into
the pole."
The date of this article was June 26, 1951, the same day he died. 
It would seem that he was not married.
Name written as Rowland in his burial records.
There was an inquest after the death.
