My grandfather brings to mind a song by Hank Williams Jr.,"Country Boy Can Survive". Born Gillises Mill, Tenn. Raised in the woods of Hardin and Wayne County. A timber worker and whiskey merchant in the 1920s and 30s. Moving to St. Francis County, Arkansas in 1948. As a grandchild I spent time with him fishing, hunting and trapping along the St. Francis River. Had a large family of 15 children. Source, Larry Ward.
