Darius and Molly Hester Murphy Ward, 2nd wife.

Son of Rev. James Ward and Esther Susan (Hoyt) Ward was born on Beatties Prairie, Delaware District, Cherokee Nation West. Educated in Nazareth Hall, Northhampton County, Pa. Married at Bethlehem, Pennysylvania Nov. 20, 1875 to Sarah Caroline Ritter. A member of the Moravian Church, was secretary of the "Old Settlers Commissioners", elected a member of the Cherokee Board of Education, Nov 15. 1900. Inspector of the building of the Female Seminary on the part of the Nation. Was County Commissioner of Cherokee County, 1910-12. Molly M. Hester Ward, born July, 1870 and died Mar. 9, 1955, buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Delaware Co. Okla. Source, Carol in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
