Moved on the Trail of Tears, 1838. Left, Soloman Ward, 1867-1870, son of G.W. and M. A. Ward. Center Mary A. Townsend Ward, wife of George W. Ward. Died Dec, 5, 1875,age 38 years and 2 days. George is buried north of the Illinois River. He was not buried here because the river was flooded at the time. He is buried at Bell Cemetery near Watts. Also other family members.
