The WATTY-FAMILY,from Germany to Mexico,California + Florida
Updated October 16, 2008
| About Our Family Research |
|
My family-research starts up in 1982. During the past 20 years, I found the origins of the name WATTY in antique celtic times ("wad'hari" means warrior, leader), followed the marks to huguenot religious persecution in the 16th century in france, found the refugees in England (the first american Watty's came from there to Virginia in 1620 by the company of Christopher Stoakes), in Belgium (from there named WATIER de la VIGNE to Hamburg in Germany), in Holland, Austria and Russia. In the 19th century german Watty's settled in Florida and California, Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina and the Caribean Islands, Australia and New Zealand. I tried to follow the traces and wrote down a nearly complete genealogy of the WATTY FAMILY since 1570.
Please read more on the official website of the WATTY-FAMILY from HAMBURG GERMANY on www.watty-genealogie.de Here you get all informations around the coat of arms, the history of the name and the tradition of goldsmithing including all known genealogical informations around the family members. In the download area: Historical editions of the Family-History of 1918, 1925 and 1985 as PDF-file.
The Family Book 2008 edition is published!
