Many people today are searching for their roots. For what ever reason you are searching yours we have put together this little biographic sketch on my family.
James Harvey COOK found his way into Eastern Kentucky Region, from where I do not know. He was married twice, had 7 children by each wife, 2 girls and 4 boys by each. They first started out as farmers as most did in that region at that time, but later on all his boys and the husbands of the 4 girls became
*Coal Miners*. They later moved to West Virginia in and around Wayne, Logan and Mingo Counties. Some moved back to Pike County Kentucky in the early 1900's because I was born there in 1929.
My Grandfather on the Watson side was Allen Alvie Watson m. Rhoda Viola Brown of Butler Co. PA He was killed by a passenger train in Hunington,WV sept 23, 1897 marriage certificate stated he was born in Greenbrier, Co. VA that is about all I know on this family.
