      1. William1 Blacketer, Sr. was born Abt. 1743, and died September 1787 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. He married Rachel (unknown). She was born 1747 in Mercer County, Kentucky, and died Bet. 1810 - 1820 in Kentucky.

Notes for William Blacketer, Sr.:
In 1770 William Blacketer purchased land (Deed Book 2, Page 355) in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. He owned 100 acres and was a carpenter. This land is now known as the Rose Hill Homestead. William Blacketer built the original or north part of the house which consisted of four rooms, two down and two upstairs. It had an A roof with dormer windows. All the timbers were hand hewn.
