Notes for James Willis Godbehere: A celebration Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Godbehere, 511 W. McNeese, honored the couple on their Golden Wedding Day. They were married April 12, 1903 on Easter Sunday in the home of her parents east of Marlow. A Methodist minister, the late Rev. J. T. Armstrong, read the vows. <Mrs Godbehere was born <Mary Alice Tims A; To, in Sunset. Tex. She moved here with her family at the head of McCubbin Creek about five miles east of here. Mr Godbehere was born in Jacksboro, Texas. He moved to Marlow in 1886 when only two stores were established in business. His family also lived east of here. The couple have lived in or near here with the exception of 17 years in Chickasha. He is a retired Fork Island Railway employee. The couple are the parents of three children. They are Mrs. Mae Russey, Wichita Falls; Mrs Viola Frederick, Lawton; and J. W. Godbehere, Wichita Falls. Mr. Godbehere had three sisters and one brother present at the celebration. Five brothers and three sisters of Mrs. Godbehere's were present. A number of nieces and nephews from Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, attended the anniversary party. Family pictures were made during the day. A home cooked Sunday dinner was served at noon followed by cake and coffee in the afternoon. The table was covered with a lace cloth. A white cake trimmed with gold confection was served. Yellow gladiolus and yellow chrysanthemums decorated the serving table and rooms. A miscellaneous array of gifts were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Godbehere.

J. W. GODBEHERE SERVICES SLATED HERE ON FRIDAY.

James W. Godbehere, 80, 511 West McNeese Street, died at 10:00 A. M. in a nursing home here following illness of several years.
A retired Section foreman of the Rock Island Railroad, Godbehere was born in Jack county, Tex., September 29, 1879, and was married to Mary Alice Tims on April 13 1903 in Marlow.
Godbehere came to this area with his family at the age of seven and has lived here most of his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Fifth Street Baptist Church. Services will be held in the Fifth Street Baptist Church Friday at 2:00 P.M., conducted by Rev R. T. Perritt, pastor of the church.

Survivors include his wife of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. Wade Russell, Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Viola Frederick, Torrance Calif; one son Rev. June Godbehere, Marlow; one brother, George Godbehere, Orange Cove Calif; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Taylor, Orange Cove; Mrs Nancy Dorsey, Ada; and Mrs. Ellie Welliver, Seminole, Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Deacons of the Fifth Street Baptist church will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery, directed the the Callaway-Smith Funeral Home.

Obituary for J.B. Taylor: "Mr. J.B. Taylor was born in Garyson County, Texas, near Sherman, May 11, 1871 and departed this life at 7:30 o'clock Friday morning, June 8, 1934, being 63 years and 28 days of age. He was married to Miss Vinnie Godbehere, December 20, 1900 in Indian Territory. To this union were born eight children, four girls and four boys, one boy having preceded him in death. He had lived in Marlow and Rush Springs communities for the past thirty-nine years and many friends and relatives in this section of the county. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vinnie Taylor, four daughters and three sons: Mrs. Nellie Howard of the Hope community, Mrs. Hattie Harpole of Argyle, Texas, Mrs. Jewel McCain of Marlow, Mrs. Fay Howard of Marlow, Mr. Fred Taylor of Hope community, Mr. Velmer Taylor of Marlow and Millard at home. He also leaves to mourn his death eleven grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Josie Seymour of Elgin, Oklahoma, and two brothers, Mr. H. J. Taylor of Chickasha, Okla., and T.J.Taylor of Rush Springs....Rev. Guy Dunlap conducted the funeral services at the Baptist Tabernacle in Marlow on Saturday afternoon, June 9, at 2;00 o'clock. Funeral aggrangement were in charge of Steele Funeral Home. Interment was in the Marlow Cemetery."
