CHARLES¹⁰ WELLIVER (HIRAM⁹, JOSEPH⁸, JOHN⁷, PETER⁶, JOHANN PETER⁵, JOHANN PETER⁴ WOHLEBEN, WAHLRATH³, JOHANN PAULUS², PETER¹) was born 25 Aug 1853 in Reddind Township, Jackson Co., Ind, and died 13 Nov 1926 in Jackson Co., Indiana. He married CLARA N. OATHOUDT 15 Oct 1884, daughter of JOHN OATHOUDT and HULDA HULCOMB. She was born 05 Sep 1853 in Dearborn Co., Indiana, and died 08 Dec 1919 in Jackson Co., Indiana.

Notes for CHARLES WELLIVER:
He was born on a farm in Redding Township, Jackson County on 25 August 1853, and has been a resident of the county for more than half a century. He is the son of Hiram and Eleanor (McClure) Welliver.
Charles was reared on the old home farm and received his early educational discipline in the common schools of Jackson County, while even as a boy he began to contribute his quota to the work on the farm, in the management of which he continued to be concerned until he passed the age of thirty. He is now the owner of a well improved and valuable farm of three hundred and twenty acres, having added to the acres of the original place, and practically the entire tract is in cultivation, being devoted principally to the raising of wheat and corn, while he has also been very successful in the raising of shorthorn cattle and Poland China swine. He has made all the permanent improvements on the place, including the erection of a large and substantial barn and a modern and attractive residence. He has labored without ceasing, has bought to bear marked energy and good judgment, and is one of the distinctively progressive and prosperous farmers and stock-growers of his native county, where his friends are in number as his acquaintances. He is essentially public-spirited and his aid and influence are freely given in support of worthy measures for the general good. Though he was reared in the faith of the Democratic party he became convinced that the Republican party best represented the requisites for effective governmental control, and he takes a lively interest, though he has never sought public office of any kind. He is affiliated with Reddington Lodge No 281, Knights of Pythias, at Reddington.
On 15 October 1884, Mr. Welliver was united in marriage to Miss Clara N. Oathoudt, who was born Dearborn County, Indiana, being a daughter of John and Hulda (Holcomb) Oathoudt, who have been for the past decade and a half well known residents of Jackson County, where Mr. Oathoudt is a prosperous farmer. Alice Venny married, while still in Missouri, Arthur Jasper Welliver, but later divorced him. She had a son of this marriage, Emler Welliver, but he died at the age of seven and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, Oklahoma. On 21 April 1909, in Haney, Oklahoma, she married Samuel Henry Sparks, the widower of her sister, Hettie who had died thirteen days after the birth of twins in December 1906. She raised her sister's four children and also her own. Sam died in 1920 and she later married Walter Harwell, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on 22 August 1929. She was buried in October 1946 in Little Cemetery, 8 miles North of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Alice was the daughter of Richard Green Parsons and Jane Elizabeth Logan. She was born 9 March 1879 in Stone County, Missouri, and died 24 October 1946 in Mounds, Oklahoma.

According to the 1910 Arkansas census he was in Hickman Township, Scott Co., Arkansas. Henry J 58 years old, Amanda C. 50 years old.
Amanda was born in Young Co., Texas. Her mother was Emily H. Ross, she had a brother named Mose and a sister Elizbette. According to Texas census she had a Sarah J. Hightower and Sarah's 3 year old son, Shadrack living with them. Emily was a stock raiser. Emily was born in Alabama in 1828. No indication of a husband. Bertha A. 16, Royce 12.

Henry and Amanda were married in young County, Texas on 9 March 1879. Henry's name is listed as WELIVER, W. J. He was 23 and she was 17. They are also listed in the 1880 Young County, Texas census.
