I, Peter Kearney do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Liverpool whereof I am Master, from London. Just a young Irish girl, she stopped for a few years in Oswego, NY, married an English widower, John Harpin(who had four children), gave birth to four more of her own, relocated to Toledo, OH where she became the matriarch of a very prominent family. She converted the Harpin family of her husband from Protestant to Roman Catholic, which religion the family is today. Her descendents mostly are located in Ohio, a family of doctors, lawyers and business owners. I am researching the Harpin family and have been unable to find John Harpin. Please contact Walter J. Harpen regarding the Devine or Harpin families. Transcriber's Notes: The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to the quality of original document. There was a column for passengers who Died on Voyage, but since there were none, that column was eliminated. * On the original document, the passengers were not numbered. They are numbered here to make the transcribers notes easier to follow. The captain made a count of 236 passengers in steerage, but there was one passenger (#73) marked off the original list and no indication as to why. Passenger #35 - Surname is probably Spencer, but there is nothing on the manifest to indicate for sure the last name. Passenger #73 - Rich Hall was marked off the list, but there was no explanation as to why. Passenger #75 - Surname is probably Hall, but there is nothing on the manifest to indicate for sure the last name. Passenger #201 - Surname could be Hipporich. Passenger #209 - Surname could be Erler. Passenger #213 - Surname could be Gebhord. Passenger #225 - Surname could be Tomig.
