Whitrow was born in Middlesex UK in 1826. There he spent all of his Childhood and later became a butcher. He married Caroline (nee Motherstone) from Middlesex UK. They had seven children between them.
My records show that Caroline sailed to Melbourne with two children Alfred aged 3 and Alice aged 5 as unassisted passengers on the ship called the Caractacus arriving in Melbourne Australia on October 1855.
At the present I cannot locate how the father came out and what happened to the other 5 children. The father could have come on an assisted passage.
My records show that a Katherine Whitrow was born to Caroline and James at Raglan in 1856.
They live in Melbourne for two years when Caroline passed away in March 1857.
James went to the gold fields to try his luck there he met a Eliza (nee Drinkwater).
At the time of his second marriage James Whitrow was 43 years old,miner,widower-4 children living,3 deceased. They were married at St Johns Temp.Church Avoca Victoria in June 1865.
They had two children Ann Brook Whitrow born in Avoca in 1866
and Sarah Ellen In Avoca 1870. I have no records of James or Eliza from there on.
ALFRED JAMES WHITROW
He was 4 years old when his mother died I have no records of him until Alfred married Jessie Wilson on the 20th April 1876. The
ceromony was conducted the Rev. Alexander Brims at the Presbyterian Manse South Yarra. Marriage Certificate No. 2094.
Alfred and Jessie had nine children.

Four of the children were born in Victoria.
Records show that Alfred live near Lower Homebush.
Alfred and Jessie and family moved to South Australia in 1885 how I don't know.
They resided at "Windsor" 12 Matilda Street Eastwood.
Alfred started The Adelaide Broom Manufacturing Company in Franklin Street-Bentham Street right of way and was manager for many years.
It is possible Alfred was a broom maker in Castlemaine before moving to Adelaide.
Jessie passed away on the 26th June 1936 aged 80
Alfred passed away on the 18th November 1942 aged 90
ALEXANDER JAMES WHITROW
On his arrival to South Australia he was enrolled at Parkside Primary School Reg.No.592 on the 18th January 1866. He also attended Way College 1892-1893. It is understood he then attended Roseworthy College.
Alexander married Edith Alice Maunder at St. Johns Church of England in Halifax Street Adelaide on the 26th April 1906.
The Adelaide Directory of 1907,1908,1909 list the following:-
A.J.Whitrow Jnr Broommaker "Wiluna" Knoxville.
Alex and Edith (Edy as she wanted to be known as) had three children.

PERCIVAL ALEXANDER WHITROW
Perce was enrolled at Rose Park Primary School 1913-1918.
He worked at Colton Palmer and Preston until the depression then he joined The M.T.T. (Municipal Tramways Trust) where he worked until he retired always pushing his bike to work as he did never own a motor vehicle.
He married Marjorie Evaline (nee Durdin) on the 7th of April 1935.
They had four children

Perce was renown for his garden the love of his life and helping other people out.
PAUL ALEXANDER WHITROW
Attended Rose Park Primary School 1950-1957 then went on to Norwood Boys Technical High School. He then worked At Eudunda Farmers Co-op on Nth Terrace before going to Coca-Cola. There he stayed until he joined The Airforce. After that he went back to Coca-Cola and umpiring Australian Rules.
