 Includes NotesNotes for Robert Terrill:
Settled for awhile in Culpeper Co. VA; moved to Lincoln Co., Kentucky in 1784. One tract was on Boone's road (Land Bk. P. pp. 17,38). A warrant was issued 27 March 1776 to Robert Terrill for 68 pounds for waggonage in Capt. Abram Buford's Company, of the Culpeper Minute Battalion. The records of Culpeper also show that he furnished supplies to the army in 1781. Mrs. Mary Bealmer, 708 So. Williams, Moberly, MO 65270 (1972) says that he died 1786.

The famed "Illinois Papers" that records the history of the Lewis and Clark Expedition are preserved in the archives of the Virginia State Library at Richmond. A part of this famed collection is a payroll roster of Capt. John Snoddy's Co. of Lincoln Militia in actual service on an expedition against the Shawnee Indians and Commanded by Gen. George Rogers Clark, dated 22 Oct. 1782 (Lincoln Co. was formed from Kty. Co. in 1780). Among those on the payroll are Robert Terrill, Edmund Terrill, William Terrill, and a second Robert Terrill. Ellsberry speculates that one of these Robert Terrills could be this Robert, accompanied by his three sons, William, Robert, and Edmund (Edward). Edmund would have been only age 14 at this time, brother Robert age 31, William age 18 and father Robert age 57. The expedition mentioned above took place in Kentucky and would prove that this Robert and his family moved to Kentucky at a very early date, if this is them. Robert's estate settlement is in Garrard Co., Kty. in 1800; it mentions children listed (listing husbands of his dtrs.) except for John, Killes, Anne, and Reuben, making the relationship ot these children to him questionable.
