..............................................................
Wm L Youngblood was born in Georgia July 27, 1833 , died October 15, 1862-CW. Second known son of Nancy (?) Youngblood (b. 1795-7 in SC d. after 1870 in AL) and father Youngblood (b.unknown - SC, unknown 1850 Census - Pike County AL) Nancy owned land near Youngblood-Hubbard-Varner cemetery around Wm R and Thomas Youngblood south of Union Springs and purchased the land just west and south of the Mill Pond around 1850 near James and Elizabeth, David Youngblood where the water was used to power the mill....essentially always amongst the Youngbloods of the "Youngblood - Armstrong" group. She was a member of Old Lebanon and a founding member of Good Hope Church. In 1870 census, she has a Lucy E YB living with her that is believed to be the widow of James J. YB - Deceased in Civil war. We continue to look for William's father and Nancy's connection to this group.

Some internet sites say she is the second wife of James YB (1809). I do not believe this is true. One might speculate she was married to one of the unknown children of Jacob and Sarah Still YB...as there is a gap of some 16 plus years between Thomas Still YB bd ~1790/or John and next known child Elizabeth 1807, James 1809, Jacob 1812.

One of many young men of Alabama to die in the Civil War and leave wife and children to fend for themselves. Married Elizabeth J Craig December 27 , 1853 who married W.H. Kirskey and moved to Grimes/Waller Cos, Texas with Wm L YB's two brothers - Robertson and Elijah.

Older brother Robertson S. born in South Carolina. Family members moved to Mississippi(~1858, at least William and Elizabeth as two children (H.G. and W.F.) were born in Mississippi), back to Alabama during and shortly after the Civil War and then to Texas about 1878 - Grimes and Waller. I still live just a few miles from where this group first settled.

Still missing information on brother - Richard and sisters - Sara (b~1827), Ellender(b.~1830) and Elizabeth (b.~1834). We might expect additional siblings since Nancy was 31 when her first known child was born.

UPDATE: Elijah J Youngblood and wife Francis Mills FOUND in Grimes Co - 1880 and in Waller Co until 1920. Buried Salem Cemetery, Howth, TX Some Children moved to Beaumont area, some to Waco area. LP, wife and some children buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery - Waller Co.

RS, WmL and EJ all CSA veterans. Wm L died in Tennessee. RS and EJ returned to Pike County before moving on to Texas with Kirksey's and Sara.
