 Includes NotesNotes for Kilian Jordan:
I found Kilian Jordan's date of death in a Polk City Directory for the year of 1914 at the Library of Michigan on August 11, 2004. This is the first time I have found that information listed in a city directory.

On October 9, 2004, I received Kilian's Death Certificate from the State of Michigan. Cause of death was organic heart disease and kidney nephritis followed by pneumonia. The certificate clarified that his mother's name was Margaret whose name I found in a Detroit City Directory on Riopelle along with Kilian's name. She was the widow of John. The father's name was not listed on the Death Certificate.

In 2005 I discovered 10 songs in the Library of Congress that listed Kilian as the musical composer. There are 4 included in the Levy Sheet Music collection at John Hopkins University. These were mostly minstrel songs and were written in the 1870's. I have been unable to verify that it is my great grandfather's work, but because of the time frame, the fact that Kilian was a musician and the area where they were published, I have to believe that they were written by my great grandfather.

I contacted St. Mary's parish in Detroit and received Kilian & Mary's marriage record.
