ZULICK, C. MEYER, soldier, lawyer, jurist, governor, was born June 3, 1839, in Easton, Pa. He entered the union army as adjutant of the second regiment District of Columbia volunteers; rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel, and was honorably mustered out of the service. He resumed the practice of law at Newark, N. J.; and was appointed collector of internal revenue for the fifth district of New Jersey. In 1879 he was elected surrogate judge of Essex county; and in 1885 was appointed governor of the territory of Arizona, which office he filled with great distinction.
