Oh yes, he does know his birth surname.In fact, he has gone to court to take that name back.I have searched the Social Security Death Index, but I didn't know about the California Death Index before.However, I have searched the web via Google, SearchBug, etc. and can find not one other instance of that name...except for two or three in France in the 1700s and one character in a play back in the 1800s!The name is D'Aubery.Thank you for your kind answer.
