What are you afraid of?I am a birthmother who would be thrilled if my daughter found me.If you are worried about hurting your adopted family, I can understand that...have you talked with them about your search?I think you have to decide what it is YOU want out of a meeting with your birthmother, then figure out how to manage that without hurting anyone else.I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty...your anticipation of something is almost always greater than the thing itself.So, you may well be worrying over nothing...everyone involved may well be overjoyed to get to know you.In any case, start slowly, perhaps with the person you know best in all of this...your adopeted mom.Tell her that you want to know where you came from, what your roots are, and what your blood family's medical history is and ask for her help.
