I am using Family Tree Maker 2006, running on Windows Vista, with updates applied. I am in England in Great Britain.I have an annual subscription to Ancestry, so the number of records I look at is not limited.
I shall use the example of Elizabeth Nightingale born about 1886 in Deptford Kent. She was married to an Arthur Mitchell, though I do not know exactly when.
When using the FTM Web Search for any relative, after narrowing the search down by the customize option to include only marriages 1837-1983 in England, I get 83,525 matching records. As 99% of the results are from the "FreeBMD Marriage Index", no specific detail is given within the FTM program, therefore I have assumed that I have to look at each one to search for my relative, please correct me if I am wrong and there is a quicker way?
Furthermore and this is the real nub of my question, each time I run the same Web Search from within FTM, will the results always be displayed in the same order? If this is the case then I can just note where I have searched upto, and then the next time I can continue the search but just skip forward the number of pages.
