1) So you have ONE Family File that has BOTH Scotts AND Macdoanalds
2) All of the Macdonalds that you had in the OLD file you have hand entered in the the Scots File
I am ONLY trying to Verify that is the situation.
IF this is what you had done, then you WILL see those relationships. You are telling me that is what you did BUT you are telling me that you don't see what you think you should be seeing.
I asked you WHERE the two lines connect, and you said it was a MARRIAGE.
IF you have entered that Marriage correctly then you WILL see the Lines connecting from a distant Ancestor of Scotts AND from a distant Ancestor of Macdonalds, as long as you have enough generations marked in the report to where the two lines connect.
From any Direct Descendant of that marriage between the Scotts and the Macdonalds, looking at an Ancestry Tree or Report, again with the correct number of generations, you WILL see that marriage AND the Ancestors of that relationship.
That is how the program works,
Since you continue to tell me that you are NOT seeing that, I have to ask questions.
What I think has happened, is that when you hand entered the Macdonald information, you did not enter the correct relationship information, (Marriage information) with the two people in that Marriage.
