Re: Civil War locations

I guess I'm at a stalemate because there is not much I know about him. He got a land grant in Arkansas in 1856, married in 1857, had his first child, Edward in 1858 and his second child, Elizabeth in 1859. I'm now thinking maybe I should search for his father-in-law, Bryant E. Mayes/Mays because he lived nearby and his name is a little more unusual.
