My goal is to help users use the Family Tree Maker and all of its features. The program works correctly, as designed. I use it all of the time.

WE are overlooking something basic on your PC. There is something keeping Family Tree Maker from using the Web Search Feature.

Something changed on your PC between the Last Time you ran a Web Search and the first time you received that Firewall Message. In fact, there may have been more than one thing that changed on your PC.

Don't know about your PC, but mine always has something being updated, adding / removing software, updating software, updating Security Settings. But, something changed. Its a matter of working through all of that. However, I can't help you know what changed on your PC that is now causing the Web Search to fail.

If you were to start to create a New Family File, while the New File Wizzard is on your screen, switch to your own Family File, then see if that file with run a Web Search.
