John Humphreville of New Haven, CT

By Justin Maitland September 18, 2012 at 08:55:48

I read that John Humphreville of New Haven, Connecticut traces back to Thomas de Umfreville and Joan de Roddam (RD500, p. 385)http://www.americanancestors.org/changes-in-royal-descents/

And if true then my ancestor John would have very fine ancestors indeed. I read that his parents are Gervise (Jarvis) Umphreyville and Katherine Digby of Elwell, Surrey Co., England.

Here is the passage that I read about this: ohn Umfreville/Humphreville of New Haven, recently studied by Anthony Hoskins of Fort Lauderdale, was 9th in descent, according to a 1710 pedigree compiled by Simon Segar and one in "Philpott's Collections in the College of Arms," from Thomas de Umfreville and Joan de Roddam (RD500, p. 385).

Here is the line at hand: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2940119&id=I1252http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2940119&id=I1252

Please enlighten me about this.
