William M.Anderson b.abt 1805 in Pendleton Co.South Carolina and died1883 in Ft.Griffith,Texas. He married Jane A.Scruggs abt 1825 in Pendleton Co.So.Carolina, dughter of Jesse Scruggs.

He servedon the first grand Jury when Stone County was carved out of Taney in 1851. His name is on many marriage records in the 1850's as justice of the Peace/ He moved with his son JAMES to Wise Co.Texas during the Civil War and died in Fort Griffith,TX in 1883. Jane died in Brown County TX. in 1886. Francis ,David and WILLIAM C. also moved to Texas. Thousands of Buffallo hides were shipped from Ft.Geiffith in the 1870's and many Indian Battles were fought nea there.
The family was found on the 1850 census-Taney Co.Mo.-Washington Twp.# 305 with seven children.
