I havea newpaper article with Photo. of J.Frank Daltonthat reads:
Self -styled Jesse James dies at 107

Granbury.Texas Aug.16th,1951(AP).

J.Frank Dalton, who claimed to be Jesse James and said his age is 107,is dead.

He had come here a week ago from Texas City, accompied by Lee Hawk, who said he was James' great-grandson, and Mrs.Golda Burk. He was living in a small house on Lambert Branch, which had been the home of Mrs.Burk's late Father; Sam Rash, once a Grandbury Constable.

Mrs. Burke said she was bringing the old man here at his request to spend the remaining days of his life. She had met him in East Texas several years ago and he had told her then he had visited Grandbury and would like to die there. Wednesday night,he did.

Dalton was living in Lawton,Okla.,when he claimed in May 1948 to be the notorious outlaw, Jesse James. He said he was born in Louisville,KY. April 17th 1844, and was declared legally dead at St.Joseph, Mo,April 3,1882,but assurted the man slain, there as Jesse James actually was one Charlie Bigelow.

According to his story he had lived under several names in various places. In recent years he had lived in East Texas.

He began a tour of the United States in 1948, visiting California twice in that year. In 1849 and 1950 he went to New York City where he appeared on a National Network Radio program.

He had been bed ridden at Texas City, left there by train to Fort Worth and was brought here in an ambulance.---------------------------------------
