On the subject of gravestones. In Wayton,Arkansas in the Snow Cemetery is the marker of a Frank James imposter by the name of Joe Vaughn. Another book written by the Vaughn family entitled "This was Frank James" 1969. The stone reads Frank James alias Joe Vaughn 1844-1926.
When Joe was dying,he asked his son Will to put his right name on his tombstone,His son asked what his name was if it wasn't Joe Vaughn and was told that he was reallyFrank James. But Joe Vaughn is the name on the stone. Will said that his younger sister and her husbandgot it mixed up and when the stone arrived Will was so madthat it was three or four years before he would put the stone on the grave.(source:2nd paragraph, Johnson County Historical Society Journal,Volume 2,Nov.2,1976Glynda
