I get the impression that June's mother was taking care of Dalton's daugther in Flordia. That when the daughter died Junes mother was then free to come and help him and June. Sounds like the mother-in-law had her hands tied with being a nurse aid. The young girl who wrote letters for Joseph Hines James I would bet was also his nurse. Is this the same person Howk talks about who came to Texas to help him with Howk.
