Exactly, and to go further yet, why if there was a wanted poster for Jesse James, were the Ford boys charged with his murder?
Don't anyone come up with "maybe they made a mistake"...this was the law back in the 1880's and certainly they knew if a man should go to trial or not.

I agree, if the Mo. Archives didn't have a paper, the courthouse didn't have it, and the sheriff's office couldn't come up with it, did it even happen...or was a story put for other reasons?
I have been told that in the old newspaper you will find codes...I know I've found several things that do not make sense. This was a way of getting messages back and forth to one another.
Remember, one of their best supporters was a newspaper man...John Neuman Edwards.
