Dave's suggestion works if PAF is installed on the computer you are transferring your genealogy to. I have done it various times, including computers running Windows 7 and 8. You may need to right-click on the icon of the PAF data file and choose Open With if PAF is not recognized as the default program to open .paf files.
If a different genealogy program is used, (e.g. on your Mac) Export All data from your Windows PAF program as a gedcom file. On the new computer, run any genealogy program and Import the gedcom file. (A flash drive works good for this. If the file is smaller than 5 MB an email attachment will usually work too.) The gedcom file will often need a name ending in .GED to be recognized. This is the procedure I use to copy data from PAF to a Mac. (PAWriterII for Mac is free.)
