In regards to your question of how I dealt with the proof that these Dinwiddie Tarpley’s were the same Tarpleys’ as in Richmond Co., VA. ---the question never arose. It seems my proofs were accepted without a request for additional documentation or discussion.
Perhaps, because John Tarpley born in 1720 just disappears from Richmond County without so much as an estate record; consequently, he must have relocated elsewhere. He and Ann nee Griffin Tarpley were very productive with offspring, so if he stayed in Richmond Co., VA it does stand to reason that there would be an estate record of some type. Thus far, to my knowledge none has been found.
