Re: Mayflower Passenger List
I agree with you!To the best of my limited knowledge about this there is not a list of Mayflower women other than perhaps one that has been created in subsequent centuries SINCE the Mayflower by other female researchers.unfortunately we can't change the way records were kept in the past (damn!) but what we can do is try to make sure that in the present and in the future records are kept better in regards to women.E.G. instead of Mr. and Mrs. Tom So-n-so perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Martha So-n-so.or even just Tom and Martha So-n-so leaving off the "Mr. and Mrs." salutation altogether.
That is actually how I find my connection to William Brewster. My genealogical research has been primarily focused on finding out as much information as I can about the women who married the men in my family tree.If you are lucky enough to have found a maiden name for a Great-Grandmother then you can an attempt to find out about her parents from there. And since every woman has a mother again, if you know her mother's maiden name . . . then you can search for her parents, etc.It can be time consuming but I find the rewards to be when I find information!
Might I suggest a google search on something like "list Mayflower women"?I think I will try that myself! Then I'll know!
Thanks for your post!
