Hi, Cousin Brenda.Sorry my previous posting sounded unfeeling about finding Mayflower descendents.I know about wanting to please a parent; I have been compiling baptism records and info. to get my own Mother and Grandmother into the First Families of New Mexico and the DAR (their ancestor was a New Jersey Volunteer) In NM One side arrived with the Spanish expeditions, the other with the early Protestant missionaries. Gathering vital records, pedigrees, etc. is Interesting, but time consuming.
On the Salem ancestors, some help arrivedfrom my late husband's niece, who has access tothe Beverly resource room, and a daughter on North Shore who tromps around cemetaries searching out Knowltons, Dodges etc.Mostly, she swears at me as she peers at gravestonesHey!I didn't ask her to chase around muddy lots!LD
