I'm not sure about earier versions, but in Version 11, you have a choice of "paragraph" or "list" options for listing non-vital facts.
FTM calls a register report a Genealogy Report. I'm not sure why FTM does not use traditional wording. Then, they give two reports: Ahnentafel and Descendant.
There is a checkbox listed on the "front" page of either of the register reports called: "List non-vital facts separately". This is a toggle switch between "paragraph" format and a "list" format. Check this box and you will get facts in "list" order.
