Mr. Worthington, I have Family Tree Maker version 16. The law firm where I work has a client who died intestate and we are trying to put together a chart of her heirs.Since she had no descendants, her heirs will be ascendants. She had no siblings and her parents, grandparents and most of her aunts and uncles are deceased. Which is why I called it an heirship chart. There are a large number of cousins who will be inheriting from her estate.
I have looked at all of the charts I've used before in my own family history research and none of them will suit this purpose.I could possibly do as you suggested and make two separate descendant charts for each side of the family. This chart will need to be very large to show in court as an exhibit but we will also need to print it out on letter or legal paper to hand out to the heirs for review.
Apparently this situation comes up more often than you would think and we may be using this chart in the future.I am not having any luck finding online resources.Possibly we could have a genealogy printing company make us the type of chart we need.Any ideas of a good company or the costs of having a chart printed up?
