Acording to the " The Revised Sketch of Moses Embree lll Family And The Quaker Migration South" by Emilou McDorman - she states on page 18--The Green Plain meeting house was a few miles southeast of the large brick house, William Thorne then built on his Virginia military land grants purchase in Greene County. The Thorne place later became the headquaters for the underground railroad in the vicinity of the Selma Quakers. Rachaels son Elijah and hiswife Mary Charles Thorne move backing activitiesin the system. ( unsure of last six words- it is hard to make out) ---- According to all of the information I can finda William Thorne Jr married Nancy Marie Batty Jan. 30 1851, then he married Lizzy Harvey Sept 25 1856. I also find thata Thomas Thorne married Ruth Greene Does anyone know if these are all of the same Mary C Thornes or are these Mary C Thornes different women of the underground railroad in Ohio? I can only find Mary Charles Thorn.
