(BC) listed in 1840 Cumberland Co KY census

Would appreciate a look up on my ancestor, Berry Thurman, in the 1840 census of Cumberland Co KY.There appears to be after his name in paraenthesis, (BC) then comes all of the normal census numbers. Would like to confirm this and hope that someone knows what the (BC) means.Or if someone knows without the look up - please respond.Any help would be appreciated.
