Military Pension_WWI

I was given information about my grandfather name showing up in the United States Army archives. I researched this and called several agencies to find that from September 20, 1917 to August 21, 1918 my grandfather served in the United States Army. No one in the family had prior knowledge of his services, until the years 2000-2001.

My grandfather died in 1949 without a headstone. Over the years we gathered enough info to have a miltary headstone placed upon his grave in 2007. So my question is when my grandfather passed away should my grandmother had recieved benefits of some type for her, my aunt and my mother, and, if so where do I look.If you have any info please contact me at bullocksd2@yahoo.comThank you for reading and take care.
