Earl J. Leonard
Trying to find someone who can help me find information on my Grandfather. All I have is an application for Certificate in Lieu or Destoyed Discharge Certificate due to his original records being lost in 1944 by robbery. I know he entered the military at Slocum, NY on August 1914 and served as Sgt in Battery F 5th Field Artillery and was honorably discharged at Zachary Taylor in Kentucky. Some if the officers and soldiers of his company were:
Capt. McMaster
Lt. Wayne
Sgt. Kenney
Corp. Bowman
Prv Taylor, Fryer, McMahon
November 1st 1919 to Jan 7th 1921, he served with the 50th U. S. Infantry as Corporal in Louivellie, KY. Discharged at Camp Dix, New Jersey.
I know in the 1920's, he was married to someone named Margaret and had two daughters and two sons by her. The boys names were Earl J. and Robert H. and one of the daughters were named Elsie H. I can not find anymore information after 1930.
Anyone who knows where I can find more information on my Grandfather would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Dawna Paganini
