Ted,
Below are some of my documentation:
History of Cuyahoga County, Ohio; Part Third: The Townships, compiled by Crisfield Johnson, Published by D. W. Ensign & Co., 1879; pages 435-442, Dover Township History.
Boyton, W. W., Early History of Lorain County, Tract Number 83, 1876, (Western Reserve Historical Society: Cleveland, Ohio), page 331.
Bowman, Mary L., Abstracts and Extracts of the Legislative Acts and Resolutions of the State of Ohio: 1803-1821, (Ohio Genealogical Society, Mansfield, Ohio: 1994), pp. 97 and 103, Formation of Huron County, page 130, Border changes between Huron and Cuyahoga Counties
Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Commissioners Journal and Record of Bonds, volume 1 (1810-1834), page 4, Creation of the Township of Dover, 12 March 1812, pp. 17 and 102, 27 October 1818, organization of the Township of Troy.
As you will see, Quigley did settle on the Black River, BUT, only for a short time before he moved to the area that would become Amherst.
Thank you for asking about my status with the General Society of the War of 1812. After seven years as serving as the Vice President General for Publications, I will become the Historian General next month. In two years I will qualify for ‘emeritus’ status with this organization.
