Sounds like you found the 40-acre warrant, now look at the list again and you'll probably find the 120 acre warrant.
NARA would have a service record for this soldier, a bounty land application file, and if he got two warrants, there would also be two surrendered warrant files.The surrendered warrant is the actual bounty land certificate that was sent to the soldier/widow.On the back it would record the sale of the warrant if he/she sold it to someone else.Most soldiers and widows sold the warrants for cash and someone else used the warrant to patent land with.Soldiers applied for and received bounty land because it was a benefit, but that doesn't mean they moved west.
Again, be careful with this, because there are a lot of soldiers with this same name, even in 1812.I don't know if the Captain is Reich or Reid, and certainly can't say whether it is your soldier or not.
