Rose Mary - Have you tried this? The regional VA # is this 1 800 827 1000. You mentioned a case #. If you still have it use it and see if the regional # can will help you.If they don't have that use the Service #.The NPRC has sent some of the medical records to the VA before 1973.They may not have any thing but care of medical problems but that would be some thing. By using Don's case # I was able to receive all the medical records but none of the "war records" except for two accounts of treatment for a war wound and an illness when in Germany. His war records were burned. Fortunately he had applied for compensation for war injuries in 1946 before NPRC had burned them. The other records were post war problems. Maybe there is a problem with you being a daughter and something strange about kinship. I think there should be no problem but if you have a different last name maybe ??
