Does anyone know two men who were B-24 gunners in the 8th Air Force, 448th Bomb Group. One's name is Repp (last name) and Bales (last name). They, myself and my navigator were the only survivors of a crew of 10. I haven't seen or heard of them since the end of the war.
On March 29, '02 I discovered the WWII Forum.I saw an opportunity, by entering the above posting, to solve a mystery that had plagued me for 58 years.........the facts surrounding a plane crash that killed six members of my crew. Our B-24 was badly shot up and we crash-landed near St. Quintin, France. We were subsequently flown back in two different planes (very long story) Only four of us survived. With the help of the experts on this Forum I eventually had documented evidence (five pages, marked SECRET) in my hands thoroughly explaining the incident. I have Dave Berry,Mike Stowe, Norm Richards and Louie Turner to thank for this. I treasure their friendship, along with the other regular experts who have spent untold hours in research to help those who seek information about loved ones. God Bless and Merry Christmas to all !Les
