World War II stories
Last year, I posted a request for stories to share with my sixth grade Social Studies students, and many people responded. (THANK YOU!)
I am again asking for help.I have been thinking of gathering stories together and putting them into a book for school age students.Because of my great-uncle, James Leonard Davidson, I have become very interested in WWII and the importance of this war to all of us.With war looming for us again, I think it is very important for our children to understand the sacrifices that are made by men and women every time war becomes a reality, and not something that is played out on the screen.I have started to instill the importance of history into my own son, who is eight.
If there is anyone who would be willing to share their stories with me, I would be forever in your debt.I would like to be able to share these stories with the future generations so they never forget the sacrifices that our men and women made, as well as the pride and honor that they took in serving our great country. Please feel free to contact me here or at my email address.Thank you very much!
