Thanks for the information. After looking through a scrapbook I forgot I had, I found all of his discharge certificates, service papers, and various other really neat things. Here's what I found:
George Denius Enlisted March 1, 1939 Entered Active Duty January 13, 1941 Chief of Section Gun 539 Separated August 29, 1945 at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania
Just curious though...why was he separated on a different date and in a different place than the rest of the men? I believe he was in the National Guard leading up to being activated....could that be why?
