Re: Army, 350 Inf., 88 Div
My grandfather was from West Virginia, and my father was 11 years of age when his father was killed in the coal mines. the only story that I remember my father telling us sisters is that he remembers the 21 gun salutes that were shot over his fathers casket and than he was laid to rest in the Hall Cemetery in WV. My father parents split upbefore my grandfather left the war and my father with his mother and my grandfather married another woman. That is another story entirely. so no my father never got any stories from his father, because he never really liked his father and he did not get to know him much either, but my father passed away last year from cancer, and I tried to get as much information from him as I could, but I told him that I wanted all the old photos of the family and he said done. I sure do miss my parents though. They are both gone and so is both sets of my grandparents. Please do write so we can keep in touch. I did get my grandfather funeral records and military records and it was very interesting. I also got my great-grandfather military records, he was in the spanish american war. well got to go.
