JERRY A. REA, died on July 22, 2003 in a Houston hospital. Jerry was born in Jefferson, Ohio, on June 28, 1911 and was an outstanding track star in high school and at the University of Michigan. A decorated World War II Veteran, he participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy and in battles across France into Germany. A longtime Houston resident, Jerry was retired from The City of Houston's Engineering Dept. He was an avid golfer and the last surviving Charter Member of The Pine Forest Country Club, the members and employees which he deeply enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Johnson Uhler Rea and her daughter, Rosemary Uhler Rowland. Survivors include Ruth Uhler Gardner and husband Roy; Carolyn Uhler Mings and husband Tom; Edward Rowland; and a number of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. A private memorial service and burial was held at Houston National Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
